GlenTrak®

at last, the glenoid track made easy!

About Us

The glenoid track concept has transformed the way specialist shoulder surgeons evaluate traumatic anterior shoulder instability. However, its use in day-to-day clinical practice has been limited by the laborious and difficult process of analysing 2D scan images or attempting  manual 3D segmentation.

GlenTrak® created in conjuction with experienced shoulder specialists in independent clinical practice with a passion for the highest quality patient care combined with a love of, and belief in, the ability of technology to transform surgical practice. Their struggles to reliably incorporate the glenoid track concept in daily clinical workflows has led to the development GlenTrak®.

GlenTrak® an accessible  tool that is free to use by the shoulder surgery community for the benefit of their patients.

Are you on track?

GlenTrak® is a free tool for use by specialist orthopaedic surgeons to automate the estimation of the glenoid track, allowing easier decision making for shoulder instability surgery.

GlenTrak® uses commonly performed MR arthrogram OR CT scan data.

Based on state-of-the art artificial intelligence and machine learning technology, GlenTrak provides surgeons with an accurate visual and numerical estimate of bone defects in the unstable shoulder and an assessment of the track status.

GlenTrak® is UKCA marked as registered Class 1 medical device software and complies with strict privacy and GDPR regulations to protect user and patient data confidentiality and security.

Interactive 3D models

3D models produced by automatic segmentation can be viewed, enlarged and rotated 360 degrees

Track status

Glentrak automatically evaluates track status based on glenoid morphology, bone loss and maximum Hill-Sachs width

Questions and Answers

GlenTrak® is an application accessed using a standard web browser. An account is required to access the software web interface and this can be applied for using the form below.

Only medical professionals with a valid registration can obtain an account.

GlenTrak® is only licensed for clinical use in the UK (excl. NI). Users from other regions can apply for a non-clinical account for research and evaluation purpose only.

Users have access to all their previous cases and can download a pdf report of the scan analysis.

GlenTrak® is UKCA marked, as medical software as a service. It complies with all relevant privacy, confidentiality, data security and quality regulations including GDPR, Data Protection Act and ISO 13485.

Any scans submitted for analysis are de-identified and anonymised. Any data that is stored is done so using industry-standard AES256 encryption algorithms. Patient identifiable data can only be viewed by the submitting surgeon.

Further GDPR information and patient consent forms are available via the app interface.

GlenTrak® has been developed using published anatomical data of glenoid morphology variation and published methods of bone loss and track estimation.

State-of-the art machine learning algorithms have been applied to manually processed scans of normal and pathological shoulders to develop the artificial intelligence model that allows for automation of the processes required.

GlenTrak® has been extensively verified and validated and undergoes continuous quality assurance processes.

GlenTrak® can use 3 different scan types:

  • CT Scans

  • MR arthrogram scans with an axial VIBE sequence – this allows GlenTrak® to produce 3D models of the highest resolution. VIBE sequences can be obtained on any modern MRI scanner

  • MR arthrogram scans with standard T1 fat suppressed sequences

Scan protocols can be obtained on request – please email support@glenoidtrack.com
